So cat’s out of the bag… I have picked up and relocated to CT. The past two weeks have consisted of me traveling to CT to find an apartment, venturing back to CA to see my BF and go wedding dress shopping, fly to MN with Charlie and then drive to CT with my belongings. It has been hectic to say the least.
I wanted to go through a few helpful hints that help me travel with my pup.
1. Always take their bed with you! I have been in and out of friends homes and hotels this past week and Charlie was instantly calmed when he sees his bed.
2. Wrap him up and create a cozy nook in the car. Charlie finally likes the car, but after 12 hours the first day, he was freaking out the second. He ended up sleeping on the armrest on my pillow and nestled his head into my shoulder! (Awww)
3. Make sure he has enough water! Dogs get dehydrated just like humans. Please remember to hydrate your dog. Charlie’s head gets droopy when he needs water!
4. Double check to see if your dog has chewed a hole in his carrier during the plane ride! This one may be just for Charlie and I to work on! Nothing better than waking up to a voice saying, “Dog on the loose.” Of course, I instantly panicked and sure enough, Charlie was up to row 2.
Cheers,
Maggie
